Hot Brazilian Supermodel, Isabeli Fontana

Isabeli Bergossi Fontana (born July 4, 1983) is a Brazilian supermodel.

Fontana was born in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. In 1996 she made it to the finals of the Elite Model Look Contest when she was just 13. The following year she moved from Brazil to Milan, Italy, to start her modelling career. In 1999, at the age of 16, she appeared in the Victoria’s Secret lingerie catalogue. This created a huge controversy as Victoria’s Secret had earlier stated that its policy was not to sign models younger than 21 years old. However, the publicity generated by this proved beneficial to Fontana and she quickly rose to fame. Soon after the Victoria’s Secret shoot, she was signed by Versace, Ralph Lauren and Valentino. She has modelled for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Marie Claire, ELLE and Vogue.

She was married to model Álvaro Jacomossi but they divorced in 2004. Their son, Zion, was born in 2003. Fontana married actor and model Henri Castelli on December 10, 2005 and their son, Lucas, was born on October 23, 2006 in São Paulo. Fontana and Castelli are separated now and are in the process of divorcing.

In 2001, Mendoza signed with Elite Model Management and modeled in Italy, France, United States, England, Greece, Spain, Germany, Mexico and Peru for Versace, Roberto Cavalli and other fashion designers. She speaks Spanish, English and Italian.

Dayana beat 27 other candidates, including runners-up Miss Colombia Taliana Vargas and Miss Dominican Republic Marianne Cruz Gonzalez, to win Miss Venezuela 2007 on September 13, 2007, and became only the second woman representing the Amazonas state to win (the first being Carolina Izsak in 1991).

She was crowned Miss Universe 2008 at the pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 13, 2008. Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori crowned her with a tiara worth 120,000 U.S. dollars. Her prize package included cash, a year contract promoting Miss Universe, world travel, a rent-free, prestigious New York City flat, luxury apartment and a gift bag stuffed with designer shoes, dresses and beauty products, a $100,000 stipend for a 2-year course at the New York Film Academy and free access to famous fashion houses and beauty parlors. Mendoza will spend her year-long reign traveling the world to lecture on humanitarian issues and to promote education regarding HIV/AIDS.

Mendoza has stated that she enjoys “design, photography, advertising and wave surfing.” She replied to the query: “Men think that the fastest way to go to a point is to go straight. Women know that the faster way to go to a point is to go to the curves.” She was once kidnapped in Venezuela and stated the trauma taught her to remain poised under pressure.
